Free calf-health and management advice

04 Oct 2019

Producers can learn more about reducing calf losses, the impact of early disease detection, calf nutrition, and maximising growth performance at a free open-farm event later this month.

Pneumonia and scours are the main causes of calf mortality and, with producers under pressure to reduce antibiotic use, maximising calf immune status is essential for the performance and profitability of all calf rearing enterprises.

Meeting date

This will be the focus of discussion by vets from SRUC, who will be joined by speakers from the Ark Veterinary Centre, University of Glasgow Vet School, and AHDB Dairy during the one-day meeting.

The free event will be held at Hardgrove Farm at Carrutherstown, near Dumfries, on Wednesday 23 October 23.
