The first TV advertisement promoting milk to air for 20 years will make its debut this week.
As part of the £1 million joint-funded dairy marketing campaign, the advertisement will feature a selection of iconic milk campaigns seen on screens during the past seven decades, as well as some new faces.
The advertisement will highlight how dairy has played – and continues to play – a key role in how people connect with each other.
“It could be a cup of tea with a friend, giving a pint of milk to a neighbour, or a virtual pizza party to stay in touch with loved ones during lockdown,” says AHDB’s Paul Flanagan.
The ad will air on Wednesday with spots during big shows such as Emmerdale, Saturday Morning with James Martin, Sunday Brunch, and Bake off: The Professionals.
It forms part of the 12-week Milk Your Moments campaign – launched by AHDB, Dairy UK, Defra, Scottish Government, the Welsh Government and the Northern Ireland Executive – to deal with the impact of COVID-19.
“The past few months have been challenging for the dairy sector and the marketing campaign has played a big role in helping to promote the sector and reminding consumers of the important role dairy plays in our lives.”
